Five star Hygiene Rating awarded

Last month we were visited by a Wigan Council food safety officer, for an inspection on behalf of  The Food Standard Agency hygiene ratings scheme.

The scheme is there to make sure organisations that handle food meets the current regulations on food handling.

What the rating covers

Ratings are a snapshot of the standards of food hygiene found at the time of inspection. It is the responsibility of the business to comply with food hygiene law at all times.

This includes:

• handling of food
• how food is stored
• how food is prepared
• cleanliness of facilities
• how food safety is managed

After a short wait the results are in, and thanks to the hard work and knowledge of our amazing volunteers, we’ve received the highest mark possible, which is a 5
