Guarantee our Essentials Lobby day

9.3 MILLION people are facing hunger and hardship across the UK – that’s 3 times the population of Wales.

So on Tuesday 18th June we’re joining Trussell UK , the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and hundreds of people in Parliament to call on MPs to act.

The UK government must commit to an Essentials Guarantee to move us to a future where everyone can afford the essentials we all need to live in the modern world.

So many things can happen to plunge people in to a need for social security, to help them survive through hardships that have arisen through, quite often, no fault of their own. The current £92 per week Universal Credit is simply not enough to keep the lights on, keep your household running and eat properly, it’s just not!

There has never been a more urgent time to tell MPs about the change our communities need to see, so by attending lobby day at parliament we can make sure our local MP’s know just what is needed and push them to support the Essentials Guarantee.
