The Tesco summer food collection was a huge success
We have counted and calculated and can now reveal the totals for the 3 day collections, held at both Tesco Atherton superstore and Tesco Leigh Extra on 30 June, 2 July & 3 July.
Our amazing volunteers had a brilliant 3 days and were kept very busy by the amazing Tesco shoppers in both towns, and after the count we can see just why they were kept so busy, the total are huge!
The generous people of Atherton & Leigh dug deep and donated a massive:-
4,250 kg of food and toiletries – enough to make around 3100 meals 
£767 cash, dropped in our tubs and buckets
Which is simply outstanding!
We should be used to just how amazing the people in our community are but it still makes us count our blessings, every time, and we will never take it for granted. We are humbled and thankful once again.

Thank you to all our amazing volunteers, inc. staff from UPS bolton who not only gave us lots of hours but also donated a huge amount of food.
and last but not least, thank you to every last person that donated & simply refuses to see their friends and neighbours struggle, even when times are tough for everyone. What an effort.
