Tesco Winter Food Collection 2023
After 3 days spent in both Tesco Superstore Atherton and Tesco Extra Leigh we are absolutely delighted to announce our best ever 3 day collection results.
In the midst of a cost of living crisis we weren’t sure what to expect, though we did know beforehand you lot are a generous bunch and would want to do what you can, for the people in your community that are struggling.
Let’s be honest, we should be used to it by now, because our amazing supporters really are the best and never fail to amaze us, so for our volunteers to be run off their feet in both stores should have been no surprise.
Over the 3 days, shoppers, local business and generous benefactors filled our baskets with a massive 5100kgs for food, enough to make at least 3675 meals, and dropped £1120 in our buckets, so we can get the food where it needs to go.
That is a new record for a 3 day collection.
Thankyou
it’s difficult to express just how much you’ve blessed us, and in turn how much it will bless local people that are in food poverty through financial crisis. Hopefully this will last us right up till Christmas.

Thankyou to staff and management in both stores, for making us feel so welcome and for accommodating us so well.
Thankyou to all our amazing volunteers, from local people to local business, in stores and in our warehouse, you all gave up your time to help and worked very hard, with a smile on your face.
Thankyou to each and every person, business and organisation that took it upon themselves to dig deep for local people. From 1 can, to a trolley full and from a bit of change to notes pushed in our buckets, you are all giving what you can and that is simply wonderful. We can’t ask for more.
