From director Ken Loach, writer Paul Laverty and the award-winning team behind I, DANIEL BLAKE, comes SORRY WE MISSED YOU – a powerful exploration of the contemporary world of work, the gig economy and the challenges faced by one family trying to hold it all together.

The film, starring Kris Hitchen, Debbie Honeywood, Rhys Stone and Katie Proctor, tells the story of Ricky and his family who have been fighting an uphill struggle against debt since the 2008 financial crash. An opportunity to wrestle back some independence appears with a shiny new van and the chance to run a franchise as a self-employed delivery driver.

From the privatisation of the welfare state, to the harsh realities of the gig economy, Ken and Paul’s masterful storytelling has offered insight into some of the most pressing issues of our time. Their powerful films shine a light on the lives of ordinary people under an uncaring economic system and SORRY WE MISSED YOU is their most compelling piece of work yet.
